Environment
Molyvos is a small Greek tradition Village, which has kept a lot of its traditions alive, the modern society of mass tourism is not something that can influence the environment of our community.
Ippos contributes to the local environment by taking care of the stray cats and dogs in the area, providing them with food and basic medication. Further more Molyvos has a large wild and domesticated animals that lives in the region such as foxes, eagles, wild horses, sheep and many more that we get to observe throughout the hacks.
Molyvos as a community has set the first Saturday of June as a day to clean our village from all the rubbish, clean the beaches and make sure our garbage bins are well in their places, ippos and its student support the community every year.
The energy courses we use at Ippos is Solar to maintain an eco friendly environment for us and the horses.
The buildings are made of the stones that where found in the land and the landscape has been kept to its original form.
Ippos believed in recycling their materials, we fix most of our equipment such as horse shoes, which are shaped back to their original state by our local farrier or lung-lines and lead ropes that are sawed by our local seamstress.
Community
Molyvos is a traditional village that its architecture is protected from development by a preservation order dating from 1965, it is a beautiful village with stone houses under a spectacular medical castle. Molyvos does not only preserve its architecture, the community as a whole works together to create an eco-friendly tourism destination, the activities you can find in molyvos vary from hiking, biking, kayaking, bird watching, jeep safaris and many more.
Molyvos aim is to be a tourism destination for activist and eco-friendly, close to nature tourists. The community as a whole is making a large move to promote our local farmers products such as olive, honey, yogurt and cheeses.
Further more there exist to chain shops or brand in the region, small shops, mini markets, restaurants, fishing market all owned locally and run for the locals and the tourists.
Molyvos is a friendly place to visit, the local economy is supported by the travelers who make the effort to come all the way to our beautiful village and the local community does appreciate them.
